RARE LATE P.O.W. USAGE OF THE TYPE 5 CARD EX "[KUCHING] P.O.W, CAMP. BORNEO" TO G.B.; 19 May 1945 usage of the red card (some wear) - with full stop and comma transposed in imprint on reverse, i.e. Type 5) from British "Walt[er] [Thornton]" to Darlington with Japanese red printed censor mark on the front, and only the words "P.O.W, Camp. Borneo." printed on the reverse. All the 11 examples of this Type 5 card recorded by Tett were dated 19 May or May (and probably sent on the same date, and captured by the Allies in transit and so delivered after the end of the war and the end of British censorship). Very rare. Cross Reference: MILITARY - P.O.W. MAIL, MILITARY - WWII, MILITARY - CENSORED MAIL
