A CONTINENTAL PURPLE VELVET COVER, possibly Italian, 19th century, the triple panelled centre embroidered in gold thread with a central panel of rosettes on a scroll ground with white floss silk petals within a deep border and fringed, sewn through a red coarse cotton backing, 66" square (Est. plus 24% premium inc. VAT)
Quite faded in parts, but generally good. Currently tacked at one end to enclose a hanging pole.
