A pair of Charenton (France) porcelain figures, circa 1880, modelled as the 'Blue Boy' after Gainsborough, and his female companion, on circular bases with the mottos 'Nobilitis Virtus Non St Emma Characheti' and 'Cavendo Tutus', painted blue underglaze marks, 28cm high; together with a group of assorted glass, comprising a pair of George III sweetmeat ars, lacking covers, with silver-mounted rims, hallmarks possibly for Matthew Boulton, 11cm high; a silver mounted goblet or jar, Joseph Wyatt, 1793, 13cm high; a cut glass sweetmeat jar and cover, 20cm high; and a press moulded jug, 15cm high (qty) Condition:The boy has a firing crack around one wrist. Both figures have some minor wear to the gilding and around the edges of the base. The boy also has a further short firing crack to the underside of the base. The female has a breakage to one of the bows on the rear of her dress and a small further break to the leaf of the flower in her hand. The female figure also has several nibbles around the base, predominantly to the rear. No significant damages or any signs of restoration. Please see images. Some dings and slight mishaping to the silver rims of the two smaller sweetmeat jars. Minor nibbles to faceted edges on all pieces. Mossing and scratches to bases commensurate with age. Minor nibbles and knocks to edges of bases. Larger base chip to taller sweetmeat jar. Damage to spoon inlet on the covered jar. chip to rim. See images.
