A Maple & Co Belgian black marble and ormolu 8-day architectural mantle clock, late 19th century, with urn surmount, fitted with gilt metal mounts throughout, the engraved "Roman" bearing the retailer, Maple & Co trade name, the Japy Brothers movement lacking pendulum or bell. 31 cm wide x 41 cm overall height. The movement lacks either a bell or a pendulum. The movement winds easily on both trains, and when the escape is manually moved the hands move correspondingly, of course is no guarantee of accuracy or reliability The urn has one scroll handle missing.
