**A unique set of six high powered pneumatic air rifles, individually made to the highest engineering standards in the 1960s. The initial experiments to ascertain optimum calibres, bullet size and weight, and air pressure were written up by the builder of the rifles in an article in “Guns Review” in June 1965. A brief description of the guns is as follows: Number 101 .22” calibre with 20” barrel, full length air cylinder beneath, Parker Hale PH16 aperture rearsight, and plain walnut half stock with metal disc in the butt dated 1964; Number 102. .375” calibre with 20¾” barrel, full length air cylinder changed with a long underlever, no sights but provision for the Weaver B4 telescopic sight in the box of accessories accompanying the lot, and walnut half stock with chequered panels to the fore end and semi pistol grip. Apparently the loading valve is stuck in the open position and needs easing prior to use. Number 104 ,25” calibre with 22½” barrel, charged with CO2 “sparklet” bulb in the air cylinder, Parker Hale PH16 aperture rearsight, and walnut half stock with chequered panels to the fore end and semi pistol grip. Number 106 .308” calibre with 21” barrel, long air cylinder charged with long under lever, Parker Hale PH16 aperture rearsight, and walnut half stock with chequered panels to the fore end and semi pistol grip. Apparently one of the valves in the pump is either stuck open or leaking. Number 107 .308” calibre with 21” barrel, charged with CO2 gas from a reservoir concealed in the butt, no sights but with Parker Hale WEI mounting block for telescopic sight and plain wood butt with semi pistol grip. Number 108 .457” calibre with 24½” barrel, long air cylinder charged with CO2 gas via screw in adapter, small blade fore sight but no rearsight, and walnut half stock with chequered panels to fore end and semi pistol grip. These are all in good condition and believed to be in working order, except where faults are mentioned. Also included in the lot are detailed specifications and operating instructions for each weapon. Together with a box of accessories, including bullet moulds and sizers, charging adapters for rifles 101, 107 and 108, Lyman reloading hand book, lead pouring ladle, pellets, a copy of the 1965 “Guns Review” article, etc. Note: the purchaser of this lot should hold an appropriate Firearms Licence or be a Registered Firearms Dealer. £2000-2100
