Crimean War Crimea Medal 3 Clasps Alma, Inkerman and Sebastopol, impressed on rim 1856 Peter Richards 19th Rgt. We assume that 1856 relates to the year rather that the serial number of the soldier - medal rolls of the 19th Regiment of Foot confirm 2527 Private Peter Richards was entitled to the Crimea Medal with 3 clasps as detailed above. 119th Regiment of Foot (Green Howards) sailed from Britain in April 1854 arriving in The Crimea in September of that year. Over several months they sustained heavy casualties in major engagements before a peace treaty was signed in March 1856.
