An Edwardian carved oak frieze, the (incomplete) cornice applied with a series of male masks resembling river gods (one missing), above cabochon cartouche panels, to left 'Western Times Company Limited. William Reed, James G. Owen, Arthur Reed', to centre 'Built 1567. Restored 1907', to right 'Restoration by Westcott, Austin & White, Exeter.', 11" x 64". This panel is believed to have been removed from the premises at 225/226 High Street, Exeter when it was dismantled in the 1970's. James Owen & W.H. Reed had purchased the Western Times in 1901 to form the Western Times Co. Ltd.
