An 18th century decoupé fan, hand painted in tones of green and orange with a scene of a lady inviting a gentleman to play a mandolin to entertain her whilst her chaperone watches secretly from behind a bush, the scene surrounded by cut paper decoupé work to the leaf. The guards and sticks carved pierced and painted in similar tones to the leaf, length 28cm
