An unusual Coalport dessert service, circa 1860 comprising twelve plates, two low comports and one tall comport, the pale green grounds painted in puce overglaze monochrome enamel with individual wild and domestic animals, including dormice, dogs, crane, rabbits and a wolf, tallest comport with printed puce Salopian Coalport roundel, plates 23.7cm diameter, tallest comport 12cm high (15) Provenance: Ivor Southorn Collection.
