Ogden's (1938) - a piece of highly detailed mixed media artwork created for the 'Maurice Evans' number 11 card in the set of 50 cigarette card series 'Actors Natural and Character Studies', issued by Ogden's branch of the Imperial Tobacco Co. Ltd. in 1938. Believed to be completed by artists who worked for Mardon Son & Hall Ltd Bristol. Mounted. Measuring approximately 21 cm x 15 cm, including the mount.
Maurice Herbert Evans (3 June 1901 – 12 March 1989) was an English actor, noted for his interpretations of Shakespearean characters. His best-known screen roles include Dr. Zaius in the 1968 film Planet of the Apes and Samantha Stephens's father, Maurice, on Bewitched.
