More Information

The picture is framed under glass and has not been removed for inspection. The paint surface shows no obvious damage or foxing, however the paper shows a slight ripple across the surface most visible at the edges of the mount. The colours appear reasonably bright and strong, but are likely to have faded somewhat over time. The underside of the glass shows some kind of watermarks, and would benefit from cleaning. The frame appears to be structurally sound, but shows wear to the gilt finish, some small dents, and the odd small loss to the moulded detail.
