The jewellery manufacturer "Perli" from Schwäbisch Gmünd was founded in 1922/23 by Martha May. Her designs, in which she also liked to incorporate other materials such as wood, glass beads, felt or enamel, brought the company a silver medal at the World's Fair in Paris in 1937.
