An early 18th century mahogany, satinwood and marquetry eight day longcase clock - the square brass dial with silvered Roman chapter ring with engraved foliate half-hour markers and Arabic outer 5 minute track, the matted centre with silvered subsidiary seconds at 12 and chamfered and foliate engraved date aperture at 6, gilt hands, with bullseye winding holes and angel mask gilt brass spandrels, fronting a bell strike movement with four knopped pillars, the case with an ogee moulded cornice over a lozenge panelled frieze, above boxwood and ebony faux-fluted columns and a satinwood cross banded door with gilt brass sight edge, the conforming trunk with marquetry inlaid panels to the sides, the door with a circular brass framed lenticle and two shaped floral urn and foliate marquetry panels, above a base inlaid with marquetry ribbon tied drapery, suspending a musical trophy, on a boxwood strung plinth and bun feet, 220cm high, lacks pendulum and weights.
