An Antique Georgian 'Au Firmament' Ring,

circa 1790, the large navette plaque with purple foiled Strass glass panel set with winding cut-down collet clear paste surrounded by a border of clear paste, on trifurcated shoulders with closed back settings, unmarked mount tests as 15ct yellow gold topped with silver, panel 39.9 x 20.5mm size M, 11.5g

The paste stones are all present and some have been replace with more modern cuts, mostly all are heavily worn and a few have heavy chips. The glass panel has a faint 9mm crack near one tip, otherwise a good deep purple colour. The mount has general wear commensurate with age, along with a few minor dents on the close backing. Overall good condition.
