Framed original watercolour painting by Léa Lafugie (11 Feb 1890 — 18 June 1972) depicting a man in traditional Eastern dress entitled ‘Nubra - Panamic’ (Panamic or Panamik is a village in the Nubra Valley in the Leh district of Ladakh in India and home to the Ensa Monastery). Frame approx 34cm x 28cm. Some foxing but colours are vibrant.

Lafugie was a French explorer, artist and writer, one of the first solo women to travel in Tibet. She completed three expeditions creating art along the way between 1926 and 1931. She published two illustrated books of her journeys (Au Tibet, published around 1950, and Connaissance de l’Asie. Le Tibet Terre des Bouddha Vivants, published in 1963) and she additionally submitted several illustrated articles to magazines such as The National Geographic Magazine.
