W. D & H. O. Wills - Pirate Cigarettes - two believed c1920s / 1930s large format printer's proof artwork pieces, likely used for close inspection before final printing, of the famous Pirate Cigarettes brand. The first featuring a horizonal lay-out with the famous Pirate logo to the centre surrounded by other Pirate themed scenes. The second featuring a variation of the classic artwork with the Pirate stood to one side and a ship to the centre. Original screen-printed proofs, as used by artists at Mardon, Son & Hall during production. Both laid to card. Total size: 25cm x 20cm.
