A worksplate, LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY, 2606, BUILT STRATFORD WORKS, 1911, from a Great Eastern Railway 4-4-0 No 1795 built at Stratford in July 1911. It became LNER D16 Class No 1795E and was renumbered to 8795 in 1926, to 7665 in 1942, to 8795 again in 1944 and to 2606 in 1946, becoming BR E2606 and finally 62606. Its BR sheds were Lowestoft, Norwich and Kings Lynn from where it was withdrawn in September 1959 and cut up at Stratford Works. Cast brass, 9"x5", the front repainted. (Postage Band: B)
