Sidearm - large and impressive Imperial German Model 1855 Prussian Infantry Pioneers brass hilted short sword Faschinenmesser. Heavy broad machete type blade approx 19" x 2" wide. Ricasso maker marked "P.D.L." and Prussian cypher to reverse. Heavy ribbed brass crossguard and hilt. 'S' finials to cross guard. Regimental marks "32 A.E.2.107" (Ersatz Batterie des Feld Artillerie Regiments No 32 Battery 2nd Company, weapon no 107). Also "28 A E and 12 A F 6 137" = 12th Foot Artillerie Regt: 6th Coy, weapon No 137. In its brass mounted leather scabbard (stitching good, leather with service wear but still VGC).
