A 19th century 40 bore six shot percussion cap transitional revolver by Parker Field & Son Holborn: the 6 inch octagonal barrel with fore and rear sights, signed as per title and numbered '9842' to bottom flat, spring loaded ram rod with scroll chased folding finger bar. the plain barrel with numbered chambers and proof marks, long spur hammer, scroll chased action and trigger guard with chequered two piece wooden grip, in a fitted case with paper label to underside of lid,, bullet mould, copper powder flask, turnscrews and accessories, together with a letter dated 'Dec 5th 1908' regarding the value of the gun. *Notes- This revolver operates on the 'gas seal' principal and unlike other revolvers of the period that have a small gap between the cylinder and the barrel breech, the cylinder moves forward to the breech when fired creating a gas seal and back when cocked.
