Star Lot: Jack R. Mould (1925-1928) An lively original 'Jack R. Mould (1925-1928)' oil on canvas painting titled 'Mevagissey'. Features the titular Harbourside Village in England. Rendered in shades of earthy browns with soft lilacs, blues and reds. Portrays sweeping brushstrokes with delicate detailing. Signed lower left. Housed in an elaborate gilt frame. Titled along with artist's statement to verso.
MM: 50 x 39 cm including frame

Jack Mould was born in London in 1925 and moved to Cornwall at the age of 15. He joined the army in 1942 and served for four years. After leaving the army, he picked up painting, specialising in landscape painting, capturing the beauty of the British countryside.
