A RARE CHARLES II OAK AND INLAID ARMCHAIR, LEEDS/HALIFAX, YORKSHIRE, CIRCA 16601670. A fine and rare Yorkshire armchair from the Leeds Halifax workshops. With a bold, high double scroll cresting and matching scrolled ear brackets, above a twin panelled back, the upper panel with rare twin Doves carved design centred on a Yorkshire mask face, above a lower panel carved with lozenge, punch and scroll work flanked by bold down curved arms on baluster uprights, the upper frame with characteristic contrasting line inlays. The twin boarded seat and deep moulded rails joined by ring turned baluster legs with plain stretchers, 116cm high, 59cm wide and 50cm deep.
