Moulinie Bautte & Maynier, a Geneve, an early 19th century Swiss 18 carat three colour gold and ruby key wind open face verge pocket watch, c. 1804 - 21, the gold dial with Roman numerals, the movement signed Moulinie Bautte & Maynier, a Geneve, No. 33029, the back cover chased with foliate swags and set with rubies, the case numbered 33030, 39mm.
Sold with a Camerer Cuss London insurance valuation dated 1966 for £95.

Jean-François Bautte trained in the different trades of being a case fitter, engraver, watchmaker, jeweller, and goldsmith. In 1793 he joined forces with Jacques-Dauphin Moulinié, under the corporate name Moulinié & Bautte, case fitters. In 1804, with the arrival of Jean-Gabriel Moynier, the firm became Moulinié, Bautte & Cie, making watches and jewellery of the highest quality.
