A LATE 19TH CENTURY AND LATER BLACK FOREST CARVED AND STAINED WALNUT TANTALUS, carved surmount of a finch perched on fruit above the shaped rectangular glazed case with four engraved panels, the double hinged front and lid opening to reveal a lift out tray fitted with a set of four decanters with stoppers and an assortment of sixteen liqueur glasses, the case supported on four bun feet, width 42cm x height 41cm x depth 29cm, with key (Condition report: the cabinet is fully functional and usable, glass panels are free from cracks, the superstructure looks to have undergone a restoration and new sections are evident to the interior, the case locks, the decanters are in good condition but have numbers etched into the bases of the stoppers and necks of the decanters to match, as glasses are not a matching set they have not been assessed for condition)
