λ A rare miniature carved Chinese Canton ivory 'scissor handle' cockade export fan, early 19th century, the fan finely carved and pierced with three small oval vignettes, one enclosing a monogram of the original owner (FB), the vignettes are surrounded by extensive carved floral designs, the tips of the sticks carved with flying birds, the guards are finely carved with pavilions and flowers, circa 1800, diameter 18cm, the guardsticks 15.5cm long
