"KAMPTEE/POST PAID" HAND STAMP ON COVER WITH RARE LONDON BOXED "INDIA LETTER"; 21 Feb. 1827 EL from Kamptee to Ireland (cross written but with full typed transcript) endorsed "Via Bombay P.Pd" and rated "1/6" on the front; on the reverse there is a fine strike of the rare boxed London "INDIA LETTER" (Tab.In9, 3 years earlier than recorded; closed seal tear just touching frame at left) beside a very fine red boxed "KAMPTEE/POST PAID" hs (earliest recorded date?). The contents include; "...The Belfast [news]papers...I received 29 of them a few days ago, which cost me one Rupee each"! Attractive and probably unique combination of scarce/rare markings. [Ex Drs.
