** NORMAN CROSS CAMP (HUNTS.) - LETTER TO MUSICIAN P.O.W. BUT HELD IN PARIS P.O.'s "CABINET NOIR"; Very fine c.20 Nov. 1806 E (unsealed) from Alencon addressed to; "M. Le Verrier (Andre), Musicien, Prisonnier de Guerre, aux Prison de Norman Cross" with very fine "P.59.P/ALENCON" along with a faint red Paris "P.P.P.P." on the front and "15c" prepaid rate on reverse, but clearly never delivered - letters in transit or sent soon after Napoleon's suspension of Mail exchange from 21 Nov. 1806 are thought to have remained in the Paris P.O.'s Secret Office ("Cabinet Noir").
