A good scarce .75" Prussian 1740/73 Pattern Potsdam flintlock musket, 57" overall, barrel 41" with proof marks at the breech and brass blade fore sight; stepped lock with bevelled edges, facetted pan, and unbridled frizzen, plate engraved "Potzdammegazin" and "DSE" on the lower bevel; stained beech wood fullstock with carved apron around the mounts and high comb to the butt; heavy bevelled and facetted brass mounts, and oval escutcheon engraved with the crowned cypher of Friedrich II; with sling swivels, original stout steel ramrod, and scarce original triangular socket bayonet. Good Working Order and Condition, (small sliver of wood missing from the stock above the lock). Plate 35
