A good scarce .75" Prussian 1740/73 Pattern Potsdam flintlock musket, 57" overall, barrel 41" with proof marks at the breech and brass blade fore sight; stepped lock with bevelled edges, facetted pan, and unbridled frizzen, plate engraved "Potzdammegazin" and "DSE" on the lower bevel; stained beech wood fullstock with carved apron around the mounts and high comb to the butt; heavy bevelled and facetted brass mounts, and oval escutcheon engraved with the crowned cypher of Friedrich II; with sling swivels, original stout steel ramrod, and scarce original triangular socket bayonet.
