Lydia Kemeny, painter, illustrator, and designer, studied fashion at St Martin's School of Art and the Royal College of Art. As Head of Fashion at Central St Martin's from 1976, she taught and mentored John Galliano and Alexander McQueen. She exhibited at the Royal Academy, the London Group, and the New English Art Club.
Lydia was the daughter of artist Kalman Kemeny (1896-1994).
Works by Kemeny are held in the UK Government Art Collection, and are exceptionally scarce at auction.
Records of sales on the second hand market are sparse.
