A NINETEENTH CENTURY IVORY HANDLED MAMELUKE SWORD MARKED FOR THE VAVASOUR FAMILY. With an 81 cm gently curved and sharpened blade, with a broad fuller and shaped tip, marked to the back of the blade 'J. J. Prunviel Solingen'. With diamond shaped cross guard engraved with a crest and heraldic device of a standing cockerel, the two part ivory grip with twin bolt with floral fixings. In a steel scabbard with decorative squared end, twin suspension rings. 97 cm overall. A Cites licences has been acquired for this item.
