A LOUIS XVI GILT-BRONZE-MOUNTED BLEU NOUVEAU PORCELAIN VASE A MONTER attributed to the Sevres manufactory, late 18th century, of circular form with open central aperture with gadrooned collar and brass liner, the shallow bowl resting on a spreading socle, on a square plinth with foliate inset panels and ropetwist lower edge, on a bleu turquin marble foot, lacking cover, 26cm high x 25.5cm diameter

A vase ovale uni of similar arrangement (in the Royal Collection), retaining its cover and fitted with finely chased gilt bronze mounts, some of which were added in the early 19th century, was bought by Francois Benois from the widow of Quentin Crauford in Paris in May 1820 (RCIN 10889 https://www.rct.uk/collection/search#/1/collection/10889/vase-ovale-uni)
