UTAGAWA KUNIYOSHI (1797-1861) WOODBLOCK PRINT 'FOX LADY KUZUNOHA',

'A man rescued a fox in distress. Later a young woman named Kuzunoha visited his house. They married and had a child. But the call from the Wilderness was so strong that she had to go back to nature. Here she holds her sleeping child and writes a farewell poem on a shoji-screen. She leaves her child and returns to her home in the wildnerness.
