A cased 5 shot 54 bore third model Tranter double trigger self cocking percussion revolver, barrel 6” engraved “A Clayton, High St, Southampton”; Birmingham proved; frame engraved with scrolls and “No 20010 T”, the frame and rammer stamped with small oval “Tranters Patent”; with chequered walnut butt and engraved steel butt cap. Good Working Order and Condition (dark patina with small patches of rust); in its green baize lined fitted mahogany case with maker’s trade label, containing copper flask by Hawksley, retaining most original finish (one small dent), Tranter marked double cavity bullet mould, nipple key with pricker, cleaning rod, pewter oil bottle, and japanned tins with paper labels for “Tranter’s Patent Lubricating Bullets”, “Tranter’s Patent Lubricating Composition” and “Eley’s Superior Sporting Percussion Caps” (the last lid AF).
