17THC CHINESE TRANSITIONAL BLUE & WHITE JUG. A 17thc transitional jug, circa 1640, the blue and white jug of tapering form and painted with two figures within a landscape scene. With a silver spout (unmarked), and with a replacement lid (18thc English porcelain) with silver mounts (unmarked). 20cms high excluding lid.
Jug, there is a small hairline which is visible inside (2cms long), this is not visible on the outside and may have been done in manufacture. Some wear to the base, spout has a few dents in places.
English porcelain lid, seems generally fine, mount has a couple of dents to the inside rim.
