A massive Umbrian maiolica armorial jug, probably Orvieto, of globular form with pinched spout, painted in green and manganese with the arms of Manfredi of Bologna surmounted by a Unicorn within foliate cartouche, 15th century, 40.5cm high [some restoration and glaze losses]. Provenance: paper labels for the Imbert Collection no.687, Rome; and the John Philip Kassebaum Collection no.91; also by repute the Thomas Harris Collection, London.
