A 17-piece early 19th century Derby porcelain Botanical dessert service, each piece finely painted with botanical specimens, probably by William 'Quaker' Pegg, during his 'Second Period', 1813 - 1820. The set comprises ten plates 'Prickly Seeded Pavonia’, 'Single Blue Hipatica’, 'Purple Ten Weeks Stock‘, 'Cabbage Rose’, 'New Brazil Gesneria’, 'Early Flowering Blue Phlox,’ 'Variegated Iris’, 'Scarlet Bizarre Carnation', 'Polyanthus’, ‘Dutch Honeysuckle’, all 22.5cm diameter, a heart shaped dish ‘Ten Weeks Stock’, two lozenge shaped dishes ‘Scarlet Blandfordia’ and 'Oriental Poppy', a lobed dish ‘American Cowslip’, two shell shape dishes, ‘Shrubby Pimpernel’ and ‘Marsh Hibiscus’ and a sauce tureen with lid ‘Wild Hyacinth’ Single Anemone’ 'Double Columbine'. All pieces are with descriptive titles, tureen with three titles, each piece with crown, crossed batons and D factory marks to bases in red.
