The note book which is a 1917 dated Army book has been written in pencil on a daily basis from Monday 16th September through to the 19th October 1940, each entry is about reporting to the Observation Post at night, the names of those present and any observations including: Planes over, Gunfire West of O.P., Plane east to west, Gun Fire southwest, Flares from northeast, Two bombs dropped over Bedford, etc., together with three original typed Orders for 13TH NORTHANTS BN. HOME GUARD dated 1943 & 1944
