*Gladys Marguerite Baker (British, 1889-1959) - 'Come to mama' - Oil on canvas - 44 x 90cm - 68 x 113cm framed - In a bird's eye maple frame - Provenance: By descent in the artist's family - Baker was a London painter specialising in portraiture. She trained at Queen's College, St John's Wood Art School and Royal Academy Schools, where she won a silver medal for a composition in colour in December 1914.
