2011 Remhoogte Honeybunch Chenin Blanc (750ml) x 2 bottles - Provenance: Restaurant Mosaic Wine Cellar Collection
The honey-gold bunches are harvested from block number 6, a registered single vineyard. Only the exposed bunches on the morning sun side are selected for this wine, they turn gold in colour as a result of their exposure giving the wine a unique honeyed character. At 25 years old, it was the oldest vineyard on the estate in 2011. This wine is fermented with the wild/indigenous yeasts in older French oak barrels giving it an incredible complexity showing rich, honeyed fruit with a bright acidity leading into a delicious savoury finish. The wine is matured for 12 months in 225L French oak vats. The wine is left on the fine lees for the duration of the maturation before it is racked and bottled. 4.5* Platter Guide and Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show Gold.
