An unmatched pair of uncut and unmounted fan leaves, mid-19th century, engraved, marked in the gorge “BELLEVILLE 1272” in print and “No 1272 = ????” handwritten in ink, lacking artist’ signature, the first featuring the grounds of a large country house, couples and their children at leisure, a girl to the left with her puppy perched upright on her knee, a younger girl centrally standing on a bench surrounded by female family members, all figures wearing 18th century dress; together with a second leaf with a lakeside scene, several ladies and children in a rowing boat, a child sailing a wooden boat from the banks and a lady to the left feeding swans, the dresses with the tiered skirts of the 1850’s (2)
