An early 19th century needlework depicting a lady in a woodland scene feeding sheep, it is noted on the reverse that when the tapestry out of the frame it had the following narrative, "Miss Spurges began this work August 12th 1799", 44cm x 52cm
Good overall condition, no visible holes or repairs. Some slight discolouration and foxing most evident to background and to right of figure's head. Feint split to outer edge, where oval mount connects, a small split forming in her neck. Colour good.
