The saxophone's current owner purchased it in 1985 from a renowned 48th Street New York music pawn shop and has been played professionally throughout its life. Often only featuring for a few bars of music in orchestral works and stage musicals, alongside the romantic sounds of pop jazz solos. Its oboe-like sound makes an excellent colour contribution to groups but equally sounds evocatively soothing and smooth when playing solo.
