Maud Naftel SFA (British 1856-1890) Unwillingly to school, watercolour, signed and inscribed to mount, 35 x 25 cm. * Maud was the daughter of Paul Jacob Naftel and Isabel (Oakley) Naftel. This watercolour is listed on page 153 of the Paul Jacob Naftel Biography by Stephen Furniss, which dates it to 1885, priced at 9 Guineas. Very few of Maud's watercolours appear at auction, as most of them are already held in Museum and Privately owned collections.
Scuff mark top left. Needs a light clean. Colours bright and strong. Original gilt mount. Unframed.
