Victorian British Heavy Cavalry Officers Sword and Sam Brown Belt. Sword has decorated etched single edged fullered blade 887mm in length. Proof marked along with retailers mark "W. Anderson & Sons, 17, George Street, Edinburgh", etched panel with Queens Crown and VR, opposite side of the blade has etched panel with "Lothian & Berwickshire Yeomanry". Steel guard pierced with honeysuckle pattern design. Wire bound Shagreen grip. Overall length 104cm. Complete with leather frog and scabbard. Sam Brown belt has a name written in ink which appears to read "Rodney Thewell". In addition there is an officers brown leather covered swagger stick 71cm in length. (3)
The Sword has some nicks to the lower edge of the blade and a slight bend to the tip. The Sam Brown belt is in good condition, but the metal retaining support ramp has been cut off.
