Victory Medal (Lieut H L Todd) RE. Lived Sunderland. Also served Merchant Navy. Copy of a related Weekly Telegraph newspaper article 13/7/1940 'Insurance Collector Remanded in Custody. Harold Lambton Todd (50) was remanded in custody by Sunderland magistraits on Monday, charged with publishing statements to three women concerning the war likely to cause alarm and despondency. Chief Constable Cook said that Tadd had been employed as a collector by an insurance company, and in doing his rounds had been making various traitorous and libellous statements with regard to the conduct of the war, the Royal family and other persons'.
