US Army 1917 dated "Machine Gunners" Bolo Knife. These were the preferred knife of choice by the machine gunners as they were not issued with bayonets. As it has a heat-treated carbon steel blade, they were often used as a machete or even a hammer when making and concealing the gun nest. Made by the Springfield Armoury, Scabbard by Brauer Bros 1917.
