A VERY FINE & WONDERFULLY DETAILED ANTIQUE SILVER MUG, the handle in the form of a lizard whose front feet grip the rim of the mug and his back sit upon an eagle. The body of the mug is decorated with scrolling foliage detail and a pair of peacock birds with their plumage on show sit on each side, a further blank escutcheon to the front, all raised on a circular base. No hallmark’s or maker’s details; possibly Indian/Anglo-Indian silver. Dimensions: Mug 9cm tall, with handle 11cm tall, 6cm wide at the top, 9cm wide including handle and 5cm wide at the base. Condition: In excellent condition, no loss, there are some very small dints but not very noticeable and would be commensurate with age/use; do not detract from the piece.
