A 5 shot 54 bore Adams Model 1851 self cocking percussion revolver, 11½" overall, barrel 6½”, the top flat engraved “DEANE, ADAMS & DEANE (MAKERS TO H.R.H. PRINCE ALBERT), 30 KING WILLIAM ST., LONDON BRIDGE”, London proved, the frame engraved with scrolls and “ADAMS’S PATENT No 860”; with scroll engraved trigger guard, chequered walnut butt, and steel buttcap with hinged trap. GWO & C, the frame retaining traces of original blued finish (minor wear and pitting to barrel and butt cap); in its green baize lined fitted oak case with circular brass lid escutcheon, with Deane, Adams & Deane trade label (partly missing), and containing 1851 Registered double cavity 54 bore brass bullet mould, bag shaped Dixon flask (spring AF, dented), nipple key with pricker, turnscrew, cleaning rod, and pewter oil bottle. GC (some staining to case lid). £1500-2200
