A 19th century ivory etui, the ovoid egg shaped case with screw cover opening to reveal a compartmented interior containing a miniature scent bottle, extending rule measure etc, 5.5cm high with a brass thimble case (2)

More Information

Overall the ivory etui is quite tired with staining and surface damage throughout, the screw cover has a small chip to the rim but closes tightly with only a slight gap between the cover and rim, the contents however appear complete but the interior velvet lining is very worn. The brass thimble case is quite tarnished the hinged cover no longer closes tightly and the interior lining has a slight tear. Please see additional images to illustrate points.

Please note: Trevanion & Dean does not ship items containing ivory or tortoiseshell outside the EU.

The government have proposed legislation to create a UK law to ban the sale of all ivory which sources suggest will come into effect in September 2019. Please note this means that this lot is legal to sell now but may not be in the future.
