1591 sixth issue Queen Elizabeth I hammered silver Sixpence with hand mintmark to reverse (S 2578B). Obverse: bust 6C facing left with a rose behind. A worn tun mintmark precedes a legend that reads 'ELIZAB. D.' G.' ANG: FR: ET. HIB' REGI.''. Reverse: a long cross fourchée quarters a shield of royal arms and divides the date (1591) which is displayed above. A hand mintmark appears conjoined to the first letter of the legend which reads 'POSVIDEV.' ADIVTOREM MEV.''. Weight: 2.82g. Diameter: 25.2mm. Grade: F - Fine, minor crease, cleaned.
