A FIRST WORLD WAR CASUALTY PAIR TO THE DEVON REGIMENT. A Great War pair comprising War Medal and Victory Medal named to 68125 Pte P.J. PARTRIDGE Devon R. Percy John Partridge served with the Devonshire Regiment as 68125 and the 12th (Service) Gloucestershire Regiment (Bristol's Own) as 44397. Born in Crediton, Devon and enlisting at Taunton. At the age of 19 having served for 1 year and three months he suffered with Pyrexia of unknown origin, he was back on duty on the 3rd July 1918. He died on the 25th August 1918 and is buried on the Somme at the Adanac Military Cemetery, Miraumont. *CR slight wear to surface of victory medal. A lot fee of £8 inc. VAT will be charged on top of the hammer price and BP on all lots.
